England opener Haseeb Hameed and his recent tour of India has seen the 19-year old be put forth in the limelight. Hameed was seemingly the ideal opening partner for Alastair Cook in India especially due to the fact that he impressed quite a bit. Having made his debut in the first Test at Rajkot and in the presence of his family, Hameed has seldom looked back from his stake in stardom.

Speaking about his tour of India, Hameed went on to state that his final innings of an unbeaten 59 in Mohali. This innings came with Hameed batting with a broken finger and exhibiting excellent character with the bat, something that was praised by one and all.

However, in spite of all this, the fact of the matter remained that Hameed had to be withdrawn from the side as a precautionary measure with another youngster Keaton Jennings also impressed with a century in his debut innings. However, the South African-born player also fell off the pace eventually as he had trouble playing the Indian pacers with the off-stump line.

When asked about the funniest blokes in the dressing room, Hameed went on to state that Gary Ballance was one bloke who always cracked him up. However, he also went on to add that even Moeen Ali and Jos Buttler could form a trio and crack up quite a bit when it came to performing pranks in the dressing room.

While stating that he would love to be called ‘Baby Boycott’ as opposed to the ‘Bolton Blocker’, Hameed also revealed that he was a fan of football club Manchester United and wants to follow Moeen Ali on Twitter. This meant that he had an animosity with a certain Liverpool fan in the form of Moeen Ali meaning that he would give the latter flak when United defeated Liverpool in the follow-up encounter at Old Trafford in a few weeks.
