Hats off Ranveer, says Kapil Dev after the former replicates his Natraj Shot

Ranveer Singh, the Bollywood actor is currently involved in the shooting of his upcoming movie ’83. The story of the film revolves around India’s triumph in World Cup 1983. He is featuring the role of the legendary Indian captain Kapil Dev. And, he shared a picture of him enacting the trademark shot of the former cricketer.

The director of the movie is Kabir Singh, who has directed some blockbuster movies in Bollywood like Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The cricket based film is slated to release next year on 10th of April and is one of the most awaited ones for the fans.

Kapil Dev applauds Ranveer Singh for his perfection

During World Cup 1983, Kapil Dev played an audacious knock of 175 runs against Zimbabwe when Team India was struggling after they lost their first five wickets at a score of 17 runs. The former skipper rescued his side at that time from getting humiliated in the mega event. Also, in the past Sunil Gavaskar, the former Indian batsman had referred that inning as ‘the greatest ever’.

On Monday, Ranveer Singh shared a still with his fans in which he is seen playing the all-time trademark shot of Kapit Dev “NATRAJ SHOT“. From the picture, it was easily visible that the Indian actor has left no stone unturned in order to get into his character. It looked quite similar to the way the former batsman used to play in his time.

Later on, when Kapil Dev got the post of the Bollywood actor into his notice, he replied to it and wrote, “Hats off Ranveer.”

Earlier, Ranveer had shared a video in which he was seen working out in a gym and practising on a cricket pitch of Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh. During the early preparations, he was also spotted taking classes from the ace Indian cricketer at his residence in London.

Also, after getting married, this is the first movie in which Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are working together. Kabir Khan directed movie holds a sizeable line-up of actors in it and the role of every player, who was the part of 1983 World Cup squad is played by one or the other actor.
