David Warner finally returned home after the suspension of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, and his family members are delighted. The southpaw and other Aussies involved in this year’s IPL flew to the Maldives after the season postponement due to the travel ban in Australia. After nearly a month of isolation and travel, the cricket stars reunited with their families. Warner’s return to home was indeed emotional as his wife Candice and three daughters were counting days on the calendar.
In an interaction, Candice revealed that she and her kids were worried when Warner was playing in the COVID-ravaged India. After the southpaw got home, she also shared an emotional video on how her daughters greeted the veteran batsman. It’s indeed evident that Candice and David’s relationship is all about love and understanding. However, many of you might not know how this love story started.
Speaking on Kinda Sorta Dating podcast this week, Candice shed light on how she first met the star cricketer. She revealed that the pair grew up about 500 metres from one another but didn’t know each other. Candice even asserted that Warner didn’t have a great impression on her upon their first meeting.
I wasn’t interested at all in David Warner: Candice
“We met maybe a few years prior to us getting together. He had a girlfriend and I had just finished the City2Surf… I said to our mutual friend, “God, he’s not very friendly. I didn’t want anything from him, we were just saying hello cause we were from the area and he was a little arrogant and rude and I was like, “whatever.”, “Candice said.
Candice further revealed that she messaged Warner on social media after watching him on Television. “I wasn’t interested at all and I remember seeing something on him on Foxtel or something… and I messaged him on Twitter… It was 2013. We just started chatting and it went from there,” the 36-year-old recalled.
Warner and his ladylove eventually got married in 2015 and have been giving couple goals to their fans since then. The pair has also been blessed with three daughters in Ivy Mae, Indi Rae, and Isla Rose. As of now, the left-handed batsman is enjoying his family time at home. However, he also must have an eye on Australia’s tour of the West Indies next month.
