Hemang Badani, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s coach, has opined that speedster Umran Malik had learned his game all by himself, and the Jammu & Kashmir-based youngster is a pure and raw talent. Malik has impressed everyone with his fast-bowling skills and has the ability to bowl consistently over 150+kph.

The 40th match of the IPL 2022 between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad ended in a thriller when GT chased down a massive 196 runs target on the last ball of the game, breaking SRH’s five-match winning streak. The key highlight of the game was Malik’s maiden five-wicket haul as he picked all of GT’s wickets that fell in the game.

“He’s just learnt the game by himself. He hasn’t really picked up from anyone else. He is a raw talent and he has a long way to go. He is someone who’s special and we are happy with the way he’s gone by,” said Badani during the match presentation.

Even though SRH landed on the losing side, Malik received the Player of the Match award for his brilliant spell. The youngster has been a gem of find for the franchise, and has been working hard with Dale Steyn, the bowling coach.

Tom Moody says the best thing about Malik is his willingness to learn

Head Coach Tom Moody also heaped praises on Malik and said that the best thing about him is his readiness to learn. Malik hasn’t played many games under pressure, however, Moody lauded his strength and capacity to handle the pressure in the game and said that the young lad has a long way to go.

The most pleasing thing about Umran is he constantly wants to learn and improve. Tonight his plans were executed well and he gave us a terrific chance to win this game. Umran is still very new to this topic of high-pressure cricket. I’m sure he will gain more and more confidence in the IPL,” said Tom Moody in a press conference.

Malik dreams of bowling faster and touching the speed of 155kph, but he is also focused on bowling to perfection so that the ball lands at the right places, and feels that he will improve with time.
