Dean Elgar has been the ‘rock’ of the South African side with the willow in hand in the whites. The South African skipper has scored runs on a consistent basis and has also blunted the new ball with telling effect.
And, former West Indian cricketing legend Ian Bishop has appreciated Elgar as well as Sri Lankan opener Dimuth Karunaratne. Taking to Twitter, Bishop tweeted that Elgar and Karunaratne are two of the most understated as well as ‘bloody minded’ openers.
“Have no idea how South Africa are 114 for 2 on that We have got to start appreciating Dean Elgar and Dimuth Karunaratne more. Two of test crickets most understated, but bloody minded openers of the last few years,” read the tweet from Ian Bishop.
