After breaking into the Indian side in 2004, there was no looking back for MS Dhoni. He paved his way to becoming one of the most successful skippers in Indian cricket. The wicketkeeper-batsman’s popularity grew by leaps and bounds and he currently is inarguably one of the popular names across the nation.

Along with reaping international success, Dhoni also reached new heights with his IPL franchise– Chennai Super Kings (CSK). CSK have won the IPL thrice (2010, 2011 and 2018) and all the titles have come under the leadership of Dhoni. The Ranchi stalwart was all set to return back to the field by leading CSK in the thirteenth edition of the IPL. However, with the postponement of the tournament, the possibility of Dhoni’s comeback looks slim at the moment.

Despite his truancy from the game, Dhoni’s fan-following fails to decrease even by a bit. He is still a popular figure in the sport. Dhoni, many a time, has received accolades from his teammates for his composure and leadership skills. West Indies and CSK all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has also heaped praise on Dhoni by saying that is the biggest superstar in cricket and is one of the easiest people to interact with.

Bravo was recently doing an Instagram live chat with former Zimbabwe pacer Pommie Mbangwa when he shared his experience of playing under MS Dhoni in the CSK franchise.

CSK have the most loyal fans: Dwayne Bravo

“I think a lot of credit for CSK’s success has to be given to Dhoni and Fleming, obviously the owners, they trust both Fleming and Dhoni, so there is no outside interference when it comes to decision making, both are very big students of the game, players love MS and it’s an environment and franchise that allows you to be you,” Bravo told Mbangwa during the chat.

“MS Dhoni is the biggest superstar in cricket and in our team. He was one of the easiest people to interact with, outside of the cricket field, he is like playing video games, his door is open at all times, whenever you talk about the biggest superstar and then you think a person like Dhoni is the most humble of them all. CSK is a special team and we have the most loyal fans,” he added.

Dhoni’s last appearance for India came in the 2019 World Cup semi-final against New Zealand. The veteran has been away from the sport for almost a year now and that has led to rife in his retirement rumours. This year, Dhoni did not find a place for himself in the BCCI’s centrally contracted players list. However, die-hard Dhoni fans are still optimistic about his return to the Indian side for the T20 World Cup in Australia.
