Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has now become the top-ranked all-rounder in Test cricket. Jadeja produced a stellar performance with both bat and ball in the 1st Test match between India and Sri Lanka in Mohali. While Jadeja scored a scintillating 175* off just 228 deliveries with the willow, the left-arm spinner scalped nine wickets in the match to enable the Indian side pummel their opposition by an innings and 222 runs.

The 33-year-old also won the Player-of-the-Match award for his sensational all-round performance against the Sri Lankan side. As a result, Jadeja is now occupying the top spot in the all-rounder’s category with 406 points to his name, while West Indies’ Jason Holder is placed at the 2nd spot in the table. Apart from Jadeja, legendary off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also finds his name in the top 10 list, and the 35-year-old is stationed at the 3rd place in the rankings.

And, the fans took to Twitter to express their thoughts on Ravindra Jadeja becoming the top-ranked all-rounder in the purest format of the game. While one fan labelled the veteran as the ‘Rockstar’, another is happy that all-rounder’s spectacular show with both bat and ball has powered him to the top spot in the ICC rankings for all-rounders.

Ravindra Jadeja has represented the Indian side in 58 Test matches. While the left-handed batter has plundered 2370 runs with the willow at an average of 36.46, Jadeja has also taken 241 wickets with his crafty left-arm spin in the longest format of the game.

Ravindra Jadeja will next be seen in action on the field when India takes on Sri Lanka in the 2nd and final Test match that will commence on 12th March 2022 in Bangalore. This will be a Day-Night Test match and will be played with a pink ball.
