The rescheduled match between the home team England and India is done and dusted with the Three Lions winning the match comfortably in the end. After winning the match by seven wickets, England successfully managed to level the Test series while India lost a great chance to win a red-ball series on English soil for the first time since 2007.

The player of the match Jonny Bairstow was excellent for the English side as the right-handed batter stroked centuries in both innings and helped his side clinch a famous victory despite lagging behind in the first innings. To note, it was an on-field tussle between former Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Bairstow that fired up the latter as he punished each and every Indian bowler with his class batting.

England Cricket posted two photos of Kohli and Bairstow on Instagram

After winning the match, the official Instagram page of England cricket uploaded two images with both Kohli and Bairstow in the pictures as they put a ‘zipper-mouth’ emoji as a caption, which did not go down well with the frustrated Indian fans as they came down heavily on the post.

One of the fans commented, “”The comeback will always be stronger than the setback. Be ready, England.” “Imagine posting such content after leveling a series at home,” another fan wrote, taking a dig at England. “Trolling King Kohli? Huh? His success is greater than anyone in the world,” one more fan wrote.

Similarly, England’s official fan group Barmy Army also faced the heat from the Indian fans for taking a dig against the former Indian skipper Virat Kohli. “Bairstow has scored more runs in the last 25 days than Kohli has in the last 18 months,” Barmy Army wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, Bairstow had opened up about his heated conversation with Kohli and emphasized the fact there was “literally nothing” between him and Kohli. “Refused to invite him for dinner,” Bairstow said Jokingly. “As I mentioned earlier, there was literally nothing. We’ve been fortunate to play against each other for ten years. So, I’m pretty sure we’ll be able to have dinner. Don’t worry about it,” he added.

Meanwhile here are some Twitter reactions to Barmy Army’s post:
