Wriddhiman Saha’s screenshot row has taken another turn as veteran journalist Boria Majumdar has filed a defamation case against him. Majumdar took to Twitter on Saturday (March 5) and broke his silence over the controversial matter. He claimed that the screenshots shared by the wicketkeeper-batter are ‘doctored and tampered’ while slamming Saha for harming his reputation.

For the unversed, Saha, who has been dropped from the Indian team for Sri Lanka Tests, shared a screenshot of his chat with an unnamed journalist last month. As per the conversation, the said journalist threatened the 37-year-old when the cricketer didn’t respond to his text or calls. Expressing his disappointment over the matter, Saha questioned the standards of modern-day journalism.

With Saha being one of the most notable Indian cricketers going around, his tweet spread like wildfire and many members of cricket fraternity came out in his support. Although the Bengal cricketer refused to reveal the same, a section of netizens suspected Majumdar could be the culprit. Owing to the same, the veteran journalist faced a lot of backlash as well.

Major allegations against Wriddhiman Saha

Breaking his silence over the matter, Majumdar took to social media platforms on Saturday and released a video of himself throwing light on the episode. He claimed that Saha had ‘doctored’ the screenshot and his lawyers are filing a defamation case against the star cricket. He also urged the intervention of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

“There are always two sides to a story. @Wriddhipops has doctored, tampered screenshots of my WhatsApp chats which have damaged my reputation and credibility. I have requested the @BCCI for a fair hearing. My lawyers are serving @Wriddhipops a defamation notice. Let truth prevail,” tweeted Majumdar.

Coming to Saha’s viral post, he shared the screenshot on February 19 with the caption reading: “After all of my contributions to Indian cricket..this is what I face from a so called “Respected” journalist! This is where the journalism has gone.”
