The former Zimbabwe skipper Heath Streak is currently enjoying his time at the Kolkata Knight Riders dugout, where his franchise is almost on their way to the finals of the competition. However, a thousand miles away earlier in the year, Streak was sacked as a head coach of the country’s national team.

Four wins on the trot, in the give games puts the two-time winners Knight Riders in prime position for a third final. They will be facing the tough task of Sunrisers Hyderabad, who are determined to make it to the finals after four consecutive losses in their final four games.

After stacking up 9 victories in their opening eleven games, the Hyderabad franchise picked up four L’s on the trot, and have a tough task ahead on their hands as they would be facing the home side on Friday to seek a place in the finals of the tournament.

Heath Streak’s compliment for the team

Ahead of the game, Heath Streak said “You don’t play cricket on paper, they are a very strong side with good players – they wouldn’t have finished at the top of the table if they weren’t. But we’re coming good at the right time. The balance, form — those are all important factors in cricket.”

Further, the coach also talked about the real focus for the franchise, when he said “At the end of the day, you can only play one ball at a time, whether you’re facing it or bowling. We’re really trying to focus on not the names we are playing against. We know they’re a good side and we know they’re probably favourites – but we’ve also got the home advantage and home support, which has been unbelievable.”

Prasidh Krishna’s dimension to the team

The former top pace bowler also complimented the way Prasidh Krishna has taken over the reigns in the team as the top pace bowler.

“Prasidh (Krishna, the tall paceman) has been outstanding. He’s brought in a new dimension, not just with his pace but his height. For me, the most pleasing thing to see is how much of a thinking cricketer he is. He’s really been smart, he’s using his options and variations well, he’s using the double-bluffs and not allowing the batsman to look at the field and know what ball’s coming next.” he concluded with the game on top-priority.
