Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are undoubtedly two of the most renowned personalities in India in their respective areas of expertise. Even as Virat has carved himself a reputation as one of the greatest cricketers the country has ever produced, his better-half is one of the leading actresses in the Indian film fraternity with a number of blockbusters under her belt.
Both have a packed-up schedule this month. While Virat is currently in Australia for the four-match Test series against Australia, which starts tomorrow at Adelaide Oval, Anushka’s next movie Zero, also starring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif, is expected to set the box-office on fire from Friday, December 21. The duo is among the most talked-about couples in the nation.
The humungous difference
Virushka, as the couple is better known, also features in the Forbes latest list of 100 Celebrity. While the Indian cricketer is on the second spot behind legendary Bollywood actor Salman Khan, the 30-year-old Anushka features in the 16th spot on the list. However, what’s surprising, despite being close in the list, the pay parity between Virat and Anushka is colossal, to say the least.
From October 1, 2017, to September 30, 2018, Virat has earned a staggering INR 228.09 crore. On the other hand, Anushka has amassed INR 45.83 crore, which also means the Kohli earns five times more than his wife as per reports in www.india.com. The difference is indeed surprising, but it also shows Kohli’s fan-following across the globe and cricket’s popularity.
Virat is currently International Cricket Council’s (ICC) top-ranked batsman in Tests and ODIs. Recently, he became the fastest batsman to notch 10,000 ODI runs, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar. He is a delight for an advertiser as he endorses brands like Audi, MRF, Tissot and many others. For the time being, Kohli’s focus will be on coming up with decent performances in Australia.
