Arguably the greatest batsman and most decorated of this generation, Virat Kohli is ruling the game at the moment. He has scored heavily in all the parts of the world and is regarded as the best all-format player not only by the fans but also most of the present and past cricketers.

His numbers across formats are staggering. At just 32, he has already scored 43 tons and 58 fifties in ODIs while amassing an impressive 11,867 runs in the format. His record in Tests is equally impressive, having scored 7,240 runs with the help of 27 centuries and 22 fifties so far while in 81 T20Is, he has scored 2,794 runs.

Virat Kohli’s impressive exploit on the cricket field has made him one of the most marketable athletes in the world. He is one of the top choices of the brands in the country and thus it is not at all surprising that he is the highest earning cricketer in the world right now. According to Forbes, he is on the 66th spot on the list of top 100 highest paid athletes of 2020.

The right-handed batsman is the only Indian sportsperson to get a place on the list. Virat Kohli’s ranking has improved by more than 30 places compared to the last year. In 2019 too, he was the only Indian athlete to feature on the Forbes list of top 100 highest paid athletes. According to Forbes, he has earned a whopping $26 million this year.

The major portion of the earning which is $24 million, comes from endorsements, while he received the remaining $2 million as salary and prize money from different cricketing competitions. Virat Kohli is just one of three Indian cricketers who are on the BCCI’s A+ contract, which earns him a salary of $1 million. Kohli is the face of several top brands like Audi, Hero, MRF, Puma, Valvoline.

At present, he is in the UAE for the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Royal Challengers Bangalore have made it to the playoffs and will lock horns against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator.
