Here's how WTC points table looks like after ICC penalised England and India with slow over rate

Both England and India received a setback after the conclusion of the first Test at Nottingham. Both Joe Root’s men and Virat Kohli’s men were fined for slow over-rate during the match, and points have been docked for both India and England in the second cycle of the World Test Championship.
Now, the rules say that the players will be fined 20% of their match fee and one point will be deducted from the side for every over that is not completed within the stated time period.
At the end of the first Test, both England as well as India were found to be two overs behind the stipulated rate, and sanctions have been imposed accordingly by match referee Chris Broad. Both England and India were docked two points, and a fine of 40% has been imposed on the players as well.
First Test between England and India ended in a stalemate
The first Test match between England and India ended in a draw. England batted first and posted a mediocre total of 183 in the first innings. Joe Root top-scored for the hosts with a handsome 64. Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers in the first innings for India. In the 20.4 overs that he bowled, the right arm pacer scalped 4 wickets.
India replied with a total of 278, with opener KL Rahul scoring a sparkling 84 off 214 deliveries at the top of the order. Ollie Robinson scalped a five-wicket haul, while James Anderson picked up 4 wickets.
In the second innings, England skipper Joe Root scored a fantastic 109 off 172 deliveries, to allow England to post a total of 303 on the board, and set India a target of 209 for victory. And, the Indian side ended their second innings with their scorecard reading 52/1, and the match ended in a draw.
England and India will now lock horns in the second Test match that will begin on 12th August 2021. The venue for the second Test will be the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.
