Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been two of the best batsmen in the world for nearly a decade now. Very few players in the world have managed to score runs as consistently as the two in the last few years. While Kohli is widely regarded as the best all-format player in the game, Rohit has arguably been the best limited-overs batsman.

Kohli is currently the top-ranked ODI batsman in the world while Rohit is at the second spot. Both the India stars are also in the top ten of Test rankings. In T20Is too, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are two of the best in the world. And while they keep scoring heavily and consistently, the experts and fans have been busy in comparing the two batting stars.

Herschelle Gibbs reveals his pick

Time and again, one has seen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s fans getting involved in war of words on the social media. The experts have also given their opinion on who is the better batsman between them. And the latest expert to weigh in on the debate is none other than former South Africa batsman Herschelle Gibbs.

Gibbs, who shared the dressing room with Rohit during his stint in IPL, recently revealed his pick for the better batsman between the duo. It all started when he took to Twitter to praise one of Kohli’s flick shots during the second T20I against England on Sunday. One of his followers then asked him: “Who do you rate higher Rohit or Virat?”

The fan was not expecting a reply from Gibbs as he wrote ‘I know mostly u will avoid this question’. However, the South Africa legend noticed it and was quick to reply to it. Gibbs had no doubt in his mind over his pick as he wrote: “Virat def(initely)”.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be in action on Tuesday (March 16) when India lock horns against England in the third T20I. The latter was rested for the first two games and is set to return for the crucial game. The right-handed batsman has not played a T20I since February 2020 and will be looking to hit the ground running.
