One really needs something very special in him to impress India skipper Virat Kohli, arguably the best batsman of this generation. Virat Kohli is perhaps not a fan of too many of his contemporaries or rather there are few who can leave him awestruck with their batting. However, a small kid has managed to do exactly that.
The kid, who is still in his diapers, has left the world number one Test and ODI batsman awestruck. Kohli came across the kid’s batting when his former IPL teammate and England star Kevin Pietersen shared a clip of the same. The video has been going viral over the internet. Previously, former England captain Michael Vaughan had shared the video too.
Wearing a diaper and a pair of gloves, the kid left everyone in awe with his shots. His lofted straight drives and covers drives were really exquisite and the way the fans and cricketers are reacting to it, it is not tough to assume that the prodigy has left a mark on everyone. Pietersen shared the video on his Instagram while asking Virat Kohli if he would consider the kid for selection.
“WHAT?!?!?!?!?! Get him in your squad, @virat.kohli! Can you pick him?!?!” Pietersen wrote in the caption. And not only Virat Kohli but other cricketers reacted too. As far as Kohli is concerned, he called the talented kid unreal as he responded by writing: “Where’s he from??? He’s unreal.”
Legendary South Africa cricketer Jacques Kallis who termed him a serious talent wrote: “Serious talent that and not even outta nappies yet.”
Virat Kohli gearing up for West Indies challenge
With the T20I series done and dusted in style for India, Virat Kohli will now set his sights on the upcoming ODI series against West Indies. Kohli and his teammates will be confident of winning the ODIs too after beating the Caribbean outfit by 2-1 in the T20Is. Kohli turned out to be the difference in the series by playing two match-winning knocks.
