Highest Partnerships in the IPL History for Each Wicket

In the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) numerous match-deciding partnerships have been witnessed over the years. The Indian T20 league is known for its massive partnerships that take place out of nowhere. Several world-class batsmen bat together to help the team either post a score or chase down the total. These partnerships get really fascinating when both the on-crease batsmen tend to build the innings and hit the bowlers out of the fences.

Openers of Sunrisers are the list toppers

Huge partnerships have always made the difference in the game. The list of highest partnership in IPL by wickets is dominated by star players of all time. Currently, the list is topped by the “Hyderabadi” openers, JM Bairstow and DA Warner. Playing at Hyderabad, they contributed a marvellous score of 185 runs for the first wicket partnership against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2019. The right and left-handed opening pair played astonishing innings from both ends which left the bowlers with no option but to admire their batting.

Record Breaker by AB and Virat

The highest partnership for the second wicket is a record-breaking total of 229 runs. This milestone is achieved by the two most powerful hitters of IPL, Mr. 360 and The Run Machine. AB De Villiers and Virat Kohli scored centuries in that game and made batting look so easy. Both the batsmen played a storming innings against Gujarat Lions in 2016 while playing in Bangalore.

This partnership by the show-stoppers has seized the 1st position if we check the list of highest partnerships by runs in IPL history. This batting duo recently became the first pair to share 10-century partnerships with 2 double century stand in IPL with more than 3000 runs between them.

The first three wickets have recorded 150+ stands as the highest partnership for that wicket. Till the 7th wicket partnerships, all are century stands which have been achieved in the IPL. Only the 8^th wicket partnership has recorded a half-century at its best of all time.
