'Hitting six sixes in an over' - Krunal Pandya on one record he would like to make his own

Hitting six sixes in an over in international cricket is a rare feat. USA’s  Jaskaran Malhotra became the latest batter to join this elite list. In the second ODI against Papua New Guinea in Oman, the keeper-batter targeted Gaudi Toka in the final over of the innings to achieve this milestone. Malhotra’s performance fetched him a lot of praises. Now, India and Mumbai Indians cricketer Krunal Pandya has expressed his wish to achieve this special feat.

The former South Africa batter Herschelle Gibbs is the first player to smash six sixes in an over in international cricket. He did so in the match against the Netherlands during the 50-over World Cup in 2007. Later, India’s Yuvraj Singh became the other batter to hit six maximums when he smashed Stuart Broad all around the park during the inaugural T20 World Cup,

Recently, West Indies star batter Kieron Pollard too made it to this list. He hit Sri Lanka’s Akila Dananjaya for six sixes in a T20I match in March earlier this year. In a segment with ESPNcricinfo, Krunal Pandya was asked about the one record he would like to have at the end of his career. “Hitting six sixes in an over,” answered Pandya.

A biopic made on cricketers is an intriguing trend for some time now. Pandya was asked if a movie was made about him and Hardik, who would play the roles of both brothers.

Krunal gave a deep thought to the question and named Vicky Kaushal and Ranveer Singh as the two actors who could play the Pandya brothers if a movie was made on their lives. “Vicky Kaushal will play me and Ranveer Singh will play Hardik,” Krunal added.

In the conversation further, Krunal was asked about the Mumbai Indians players who can do the most push-ups to which he answered Chris Lynn and Quinton de Kock. In what was an interesting question of what would he name the T20 team if he had one, the Mumbai Indians player said, “Pandya Invincibles.”

In T20 cricket, Chris Gayle has exuded his dominance as he is considered one of the best power-hitters. Thus, when asked who the hardest batter to bowl to is, it was no surprise that Krunal Pandya named the West Indies star Gayle. He also opened up on whether he ever sledged Hardik.

“The thing is when we practice also we need one more person to judge who is right. Because when we are practicing for example if I am batting and he is bowling or he is bowling I am batting, we need a third person to decide whether that is out or was a one-run or a four or six. Because if we both are alone we won’t come to a conclusion,” Krunal added.
