Former Australian pacer Brett Lee has lavished praises on Pakistan’s sensational left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi and noted that he is a big fan of the latter. Afridi has been a prolific performer ever since coming into the Pakistan side in 2018 and has a long future ahead. The left-arm seamer has a beautiful in-swinger which has left a lot of batters in disarray including the current Indian white ball skipper Rohit Sharma in the T20 World Cup 2021.

Afridi’s opening spell against India setup the game completely in favour of Pakistan and helped them hugely in winning their first game against the men in blue in World Cup fixtures. He has a bowling average of under 25 so far in all the three formats and is rated among the best fast bowlers going around in the world at the moment. He can clock high speeeds above 145 Kmph consistently and Lee could not resist himself from hailing the pacer.

He’s got a really good pace, says Brett Lee

Brett Lee mentioned that he is a big fan of Afridi and spoke highly of his pace and bounce that has created a lot of damage to the world’s best batters. He also lavished praises on Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and pointed out his world class cover drive that has stood out in excellence. He suggested that the men in green should believe and back themselves more to have more success moving forward.

“Shaheen Afridi is an amazing bowler, he’s got a really good pace, he’s tall, gets a beautiful bounce. I am a big fan of him. Babar Azam has an amazing technique and he could have the best cover drive in world cricket,” Lee told while speaking on Shoaib Akhtar’s Youtube channel.

“They have the right team and structure but deep down they probably don’t believe they are as good as what they can be. I want Pakistan cricket to have belief in themselves and instillment of energy amongst their teammates. I want the young Pakistani players to come through to back themselves because they could be anything,” he added

Lee picked up more than 700 international wickets for Australia and he is among the few bowlers to have clocked speeds above 100 mph. He had a phenomenal career and is currently part of the commentary panel for various international and domestic fixtures.
