The Kolkata Knight Riders failed to get over the finishing line at the Wankhede stadium on Sunday. As they get their hands on Mumbai Indians again at Eden Gardens, they’ll be looking to level up with them. This will also bring them one step closer to the playoffs stage.
The second highest run-getter for Kolkata Knight Riders at the moment, Chris Lynn has scored 277 runs this season. What’s been special about his effort at the top order is that he has been coming off from an injury. He stated that he was still not a 100 percent and looked forward to defeating Mumbai in the upcoming game.
I think a big score is just around the corner
The 28-year-old has faced a lot of setbacks in his career due to injuries. The pinch-hitting opener was deemed unfit earlier due to his dodgy shoulder. Lynn asserted how he was restricting himself while fielding but at the same time placing focus on batting.
“I was probably a little bit nervous early on but of late I can bat with freedom. I am certainly not 100 percent. For me batting is not an issue at all, that’s first and foremost priority. On the field, I am not fielding at the positions that I want to field in. I’m a little bit restricted there. But at the end of the day, if I score more runs then I’m doing my job. I think a big score is just around the corner.”
If we take our foot off the throat, we may well find ourselves out of the competition
Looking forward to their high voltage encounter against the Mumbai Indians, Lynn was confident of achieving redemption at home. He knew that any leniency could see them being eliminated from the tournament. He looked forward to delivering his best for the team.
“They got the better of us in Mumbai and we would definitely be looking to get one back. If we take our foot off the throat, we can find ourselves very quickly out of the competition. We want to make sure we are out there in the finals, making a run for the Cup.” Lynn was quoted as saying by Sportstar.
