Yuvraj Singh, easily, is one of the best T20 players India has ever produced. He is the only cricketer to have hit six sixes in T20I cricket. At the international level, India has chased down targets above 200 only twice. On both the instances, the southpaw was the Man of the Match. Such has been his prowess in the shortest format of the game that his stakes have always been high in IPL cricket.

Till date, no other player in the IPL has fetched more price at the auction than Yuvraj Singh. In 2015, he was bought by the Delhi franchise for a record INR 16 crores. However, in what turned out to be his last IPL season, he went to the Mumbai Indians at his base price of INR 1 crore. While addressing the media as he announced his retirement, an emotional Yuvi said that he decided last year only that IPL 2019 would be his last.

I’m looking forward to playing outside India

Yuvraj Singh said that he has retired from both BCCI as well as international cricket. He added that he is looking forward to playing T20 leagues outside India. “I am not available for IPL. I have retired from BCCI and international cricket and I am looking forward to play outside India (in T20 leagues).”

Yuvraj also confessed that he’d have been satisfied had he played more games in IPL 2019. He said that he wanted to give IPL 2019 his best shot. But he could only play in four games where he scored 98 runs.

“I was confused with my career and how I would end it. I would have been satisfied if I could have played more games in IPL 2019, would have been happy to leave the sport with that. But you don’t get everything in life. I had decided last year that this IPL would be my last and I’ll give it my best shot,” Yuvraj Singh added as quoted by The New Indian Express.

He even told that he desires to play T20 cricket at this stage of his career. Since there wouldn’t be much pressure on him now, Yuvi wants to play with a lot of freedom and express himself out in the middle.

“I want to play T20 cricket. At this age, I can manage to play some kind of fun cricket. I want to go and enjoy my life. It’s been too stressful just thinking about my international career, performing and big tournaments like the IPL. Now I would like to enjoy myself. With BCCI’s permission, I would like to go and play. Just have fun for this year and maybe next year, whatever is left in me. It’s been a very long and hard journey and I think I deserve that,” he added.
