'I am not going to watch another RCB match' - Twitter explodes following Virat Kohli's decision to step down as RCB captain

So, Virat Kohli and his tryst with captaincy has grabbed the spotlight in the last few days. And, if you thought that Kohli stepping down as the captain of the Indian T20I side was enough to make the cricketing world discuss it day in and day out, there is another shocker that has come in.

Kohli has decided to step down as the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side after the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The same was confirmed by the official Twitter handle of RCB as well.

Kohli has stated that the 2021 season of the IPL will be his last as a captain. However, the 32-year-old assured that he will continue to remain as an RCB player till his last IPL match. Kohli further thanked the fans for believing in his abilities.

Cricketing world reacts to Virat Kohli stepping down as the RCB Captain

And, the cricketing world has gone berserk following the news. While one fan stated that this news has come in as an absolute shocker, another fan stated that he has not seen a more passionate captain than Kohli.

Another tweeted that he will not watch any RCB match without Virat Kohli as the captain, while another pleaded with Kohli not to step down as the captain of the RCB side. Yet another fan even tweeted that he is finding it tough to come to terms with the fact that Kohli has stepped down as RCB captain, and stated that he does not know how he will handle Kohli’s retirement. Another fan tweeted that this year, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side will win the trophy.

Kohli is the highest run-scorer in IPL cricket and has plundered 6076 runs in the Indian T20 league at an average of close to 38. He has also amassed 5 hundreds and 40 fifties in the IPL as well.
