It was a tough weekend for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the UAE after 13 members of their camp tested positive for COVID-19. Two among them were Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad as all of them were taken out of the bubble and isolated in different hotels. IPL’s medical team is looking after them and they will now have to be tested negative twice after the 14-day quarantine period.

Moreover, one of their ace players, Suresh Raina also pulled out of the tournament entirely due to personal reasons. However, Deepak Chahar contracting the virus was a huge blow to the team as he has been the lead bowler for the team over the last two seasons. He takes the new ball first up and then also bowls well at the death.

The pacer has now given an update over his health on his official Instagram handle and has thanked the fans for all the love and support during these tough times. Chahar also stated that he is recovering well from the virus and hopes that he will be fine to start training soon. He also shared the his lower-body workout with his fans in the video.

Good news for the CSK camp

Meanwhile, there was a huge relief for the whole CSK camp as the COVID-19 test results of the rest of the members have returned negative. All of them will be tested again in the next couple of days before being allowed to start their training. CSK is only team to be still quarantined while the rest of the sides are already in the nets with the tournament only 18 days away.

Their overseas stars Faf du Plessis and Lungi Ngidi arrived on Tuesday as well and they will now stay in quarantine for six days. The duo will also be tested twice and only after negative results, they will allowed to train with the team on September 7. There is still time for the likes of Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad to take the field.
