I am yet to see a finer sportsman than Shaheen Afridi in all cricket I have played so far: Hasan Ali

Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali, who is playing for Lancashire in the ongoing County Championship, has praised his fellow teammate Shaheen Shah Afridi saying that he is the finest sportsman he has ever seen in his entire cricket career. Hasan and Afridi arose as Pakistan’s deadly pace bowling pair last year, and the two have been creating havoc since then.

Ali has been doing really well at the County Championship, and recently scalped a five-wicket haul while playing against the Gloucestershire.  The pacer has been working on his red-ball skills and hence, joined Lancashire this year. The Pakistani team is growing strong in the Test format, and the players are looking forward to developing themselves in the longer format.

In a recent interview with PakPassion, Hasan Ali was all praises for Afridi when he was asked what it was like to bowl alongside the youngster. “In all the cricket I have played so far, I am yet to see a finer sportsman than Shaheen Shah Afridi. He is an exceptional bowler; he is fit and runs in hard regardless of the match situation and gets wickets for his country,” he said

“I see a hunger to succeed in his eyes and a passion to perform to his best and to me he is the fittest man in Pakistan who can bowl and field with the same enthusiasm all day long. After a long time in Pakistan cricket, we are witnessing a brilliant talent in the shape of Shaheen Shah Afridi,” the pacer added.

Hasan Ali also felt that Afridi is a mature player on the field, and he need not be told every time what job he has to do, and how. He also said that he will always be supportive of the left-arm pacer and the young lad will lead his country to many more laurels in the times to come.

“He doesn’t need any on-field advice as he knows exactly what to do as we can see from his performances. I consider myself to be his best well-wisher and pray that he continues to perform in the same way he is doing now and will be the reason for many of our victories in the future which will hopefully include an ICC event as well,” Ali stated.
