I don’t know if it’s a bromance between me and Marnus but we do get on well: Steve Smith

Australia’s two vital cog in their batting line-up Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith are considered as inseparables in the cricket fraternity. It is believed that both Smith and Marnus are super close to each other and enjoy a good bond. The two cricketers are often spotted hanging out on and off the cricket field.

Both Marnus and Smith have some similarities in their personalities too. The Aussie Number 3 and the Aussie Number 4 in the purest format of the game have similar kinds of unorthodox batting techniques and can also bowl part-time leg-spin and share the same eccentricities. The Australian cricketers have often joked saying that the only time the two are away from each other is when they’re asleep.

In a video posted by 7Cricket online, Steve Smith opened up on his bond with Marnus Labuschagne saying that the two get along well with each other but he can’t label it as a bromance. “I don’t know if it’s a bromance between me and Marnus. We do get on well and love talking about the game. We think about the game fairly similarly. We share a common interest with coffee making and latte art.” Smith added.

Australian pacers confirm the bromance between Steve Smith and Labuschagne

Speaking about the bond between the two players, Australia’s opening batsman David Warner reckoned that Smith is always trying to call Labuschagne to his room while the pacer Pat Cummins confirmed the bromance between the two and is glad that they found each other.

“I can absolutely confirm the bromance between Marnus and Smith. It’s a weird dynamic, I’m glad they found each other. You’ll see them go for coffee and get their salad bowls.” Cummins said

The veteran spinner Nathan Lyon also gave his input on this topic saying that the fans might feel that it’s Marnus who loves Smith but it is the other way round as Smith can’t function without the batsman and loves him a lot more.

“Smith and Marnus obviously have a bromance. But everyone thinks its Marnus who loves Smith, but I’m actually going the other way. I think Smith loves Marnus a lot more. It’s pretty weird how they shadow bat next to each other in the hotel rooms.” Lyon concluded.
