The last few days have been really tough for the former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza. The veteran had been tested positive with the novel coronavirus a few days ago. However, some media outlets in the country recently published an updated report which revealed that the veteran has recovered from the coronavirus.
On Sunday, the cricketer had to put an update himself to dismiss the claims made by some media. It was reported that he has been tested negative of coronavirus. Mortaza has been at his home in Bangladesh, staying indoors after he was tested positive for the coronavirus just a week ago.
With some media outlets claiming that he has been tested negative, the ex-skipper tried to clear the air by putting out a Facebook post explaining the situation.
I want to do my test after 14 days: Mashrafe Mortaza
“In some newspapers and some social media pages, it has been published that I have been tested coronavirus negative. This is not true at all. I have not done my second Covid-19 test. I want to do it after 14 days,” Mashrafe wrote on his Facebook page.
The cricketer assured his fans that he has been doing well now. He also informed that he has been getting all the necessary treatment at his home. He also urged people to take care of themselves and fight with the pandemic. During these tough times, the former leader of the Bangladesh team has tried to spread awareness among all his countrymen.
“I am doing fine by the grace of Almighty Allah and your prayers. I am taking all my necessary treatment from my home and I have no physical problem and I am praying for myself and for all the coronavirus affected people in our country. Everybody must live carefully and we will all fight together, may Allah bless us” Mashrafe added.
The 36-year-old has asthma and this is the main reason why several of his fans, friends and family members were worried for him. However, an X-ray at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) revealed that the doctors have informed that he is doing well now.
Mortaza is not only a former captain but a national hero, having served his country for such a long time in the field of sports. He made his debut in 2001 and has been playing for Bangladesh since then.
