It is known for all that Team India is currently spoiled with choices for almost every role in the XI and bench strength only seems to be increasing. In the same light, chief selector Chetan Sharma earlier stated how his team would be keeping a close watch on certain players performing well in domestic events. Tamil Nadu’s all-rounder Shahrukh Khan’s name happens to be one of them and he even got added as a reserve player to India’s squad for the WI series.

As now he has been fast-tracked to the senior team, it remains to be seen when he would mark his place in the XI. Khan recently stole great limelight while he hit a magnificent six when five runs were needed off the last ball in the final clash of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Talking about his love of finishing the games and absorbing pressure, he named former legendary skipper MS Dhoni as his idol. Shahrukh also talked about how he manages his pressure while being on the crease and loves to get the job done for his team. He ended with a desire of finishing games for India the way Dhoni used to do.

I have always looked up to Dhoni: Shahrukh Khan

“When I go to the crease, I am mentally prepared and don’t think about the pressure. I keep calm and play my game. I know how to shift gears as per match situations. I always want to get the job done for my team and I don’t let the pressure hit me when I am on the crease. When you think about individual performance rather than the team, then the pressure is seen clearly on your face. And, I put my team first, not me. I don’t think about myself. That’s why I don’t feel pressure,” said Shahrukh Khan while speaking to TimeofIndia.com.

“I idolize MS Dhoni and want to finish the games the way he did for India. I have always looked up to Dhoni and I want to become a finisher like him,” he added.
