‘I like CSK because of Dhoni bhaiya’ – Hima Das reveals her favourite IPL team
Indian sprinter also recalled about her first meeting with Sachin Tendulkar.

MS Dhoni, the former Indian skipper holds a massive fanbase across the globe. Now, he has got another big fan added to the list and she is none other than Indian sprinter Hima Das. She revealed the same during a live session on Sunday with the former Indian middle-order batsman Suresh Raina. Moreover, she also picked Chennai Super Kings as her favourite team in the Indian Premier League.
It is well known that Chennai Super Kings is one of the most successful franchises in the history of IPL. They hold the record for making most appearances in the finals and semi-finals of the T20 tournament in its last 12 seasons. Interestingly, the Chennai-based franchise managed to reap out huge success under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. Moreover, Suresh Raina also played a vital role as he has been playing for them since its inaugural season.
Hima Das tells why she likes Chennai Super Kings the most
During the live session with Suresh Raina, Hima Das revealed that she likes Chennai Super Kings just because of Raina and Dhoni. The duo exchanged their thoughts on the current conditions due to the COVID-19 outbreak as well. In the meantime, she very nicely asked the 33-year-old to come and visit Assam. She also added that it is a very beautiful place to visit.
“I like CSK because of Dhoni bhaiya and you. Assam is very beautiful, it is very green due to the tea gardens,” Das told Raina during the live Instagram session.
Indian sprinter also recalled about her first meeting with Sachin Tendulkar. As per the 20-year-old, she was in tears when she met Sachin Tendulkar for the first time, who is her role model. According to Das, it was the biggest moment of her life that holds a special place in her heart. “I still remember talking to him. When I saw him, I ended up crying. It was the best moment for me. Meeting your role model is a big moment for everyone and I can not forget that,” she said.
Hima came into the spotlight after she won 400m gold in the 2018 World U20 Championships in Finland. Afterwards, she was roped by German Brand Adidas as their brand ambassador.
