Ravi Shastri’s tenure as Indian head coach came to an end after India’s journey ceased in T20 WC 2021 owing to a dismal run. They couldn’t qualify for the next round of the tournament and finished third on the group two points table. However, it is known to all that Shastri had an eventful tenure with the men in blue while securing some famous bilateral wins all these years.

Shastri, before he took the responsibility of the Indian team as a head coach, was up with his commentating skills. He was one of the most admired voices behind the mic and Indian fans just can’t forget his lines when India lifted the WC in 2011 while MSD finished off with a blistering six.

He has now hinted again to take up commentary and might be seen flaunting his skills in India-England last Test which got rescheduled due to COVID-19 scare in the Indian camp.

“I mean, if you look at- if you want the real highlights, nothing beats Australia. England, we’re up in the series. It will be the longest time we’ll be up in the series until next year. I might be commentating on that game for all you know, but I’ll keep that one area. It feels good,” said Ravi Shastri (during media interaction) while hinting that he might pick up the mic in India-England fifth Test which got rescheduled to next year.

People do it to have fun at my expense: Ravi Shastri

Moving further, Shastri was also asked in the presser that how he takes up all the memes and jokes around him? The departing coach handled the question gracefully and added that there is no harm if people are laughing and having fun at his expense, let them enjoy.

“It’s banter all the way, they do it to have fun at my expense, I will take a laugh yaar, have a drink in my name. Kya farak padta hai, Main nimbu paani piyunga or I will have milk and honey, you have a drink, enjoy karo na at my expense,” he added.
