Gujarat Titans have been on a roll in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 and so has been their skipper Hardik Pandya. The all-rounder has led the Titans from the front as the side has won eight of their first nine games. GT are all but certain to qualify for the playoffs and are earning praises from different corners. Opening up about the success story of the side, Hardik said there’s no hierarchy in the team.

Notably, 2022 marked GT’s maiden appearance in the IPL, and many reckon the team will need some time to gel up and form a culture. On the contrary, the dressing room atmosphere seems brilliant and the result is evident on the field. Notably, the team’s backroom staff is also well-rounded with big names like Ashish Nehra and Gary Kirsten serving the side.

I like to grow with my teammates or people around me: Hardik Pandya

“As a person, I always make sure that I don’t like to grow just as an individual. I like to grow with my teammates or people around me. That’s the reason of our success as well. Obviously, I might be the captain, but there is no hierarchy,” Hardik said after Gujarat beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets in Mumbai on April 30.

“Everyone is on the same path — one for all and all for one. That’s the approach which we’re carrying and that is the reason I think the boys feel they are as important as the captain. So yeah, obviously enjoying the new opportunity, fantastic bunch of people around. With results going our way, I can’t ask for a better start,” added the 28-year-old.

It must be noted that GT aren’t the strongest team on the paper this season and several loopholes in the side have also been exposed. However, the Titans have somehow always found a way to cross the line. With 16 points under the belt, the Titans already have one foot in the playoffs and one more win will officially secure them a place in the next stage.
