Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag feels the Indian team will emerge  victorious in the upcoming T20I series against Australia. In a recent interview with the India TV, the former cricketer went on to predict a whitewash win for Indian team. He cited that the Indian team had whitewashed the Australians in the Australian backyard last season.

Hence, beating them in the Indian conditions should not bother the Indian team much. Speaking about the Indian openers, Virender Sehwag feels that the Indian opening duo of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan looks set for the series. He feels that the team should stick to the Dhawan-Rohit duo for the T20I series since both players are in sublime form.

“I think India will win 3-0 in the T20 series because we have beaten them 3-0 in Australia. So, I think we can easily beat Australia 3-nil in our own backyard,” quoted Virender Sehwag.

“I think Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma will open in the T20Is. Both of them had a good series in Sri Lanka and then Shikhar had to leave because of a family problem. But now when he is back, he will get a chance to play. And talking about Rohit, he scored a century in the last ODI against Australia so he will surely get a chance,” mentioned Sehwag.

On Finch-Warner duo

Commenting on the opposition opening pair, Sehwag called the David Warner-Aaron Finch pair as a dangerous one. It is a very well known fact that the these two were the top performers for team Australia in the ODI series which the Australian team lost 0-5.

“I think David Warner and Aaron Finch can be dangerous for India in the T20 series. Both the Aussie openers have regained their form in the ODI series and if they are there till 10 or 15 overs, they can win the match for Australia,” he added further.
