Former India batting stars Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa talked with the an animated pack of audience during an interview in a media event. They discussed their hopes of watching India dominate and win the ICC World T20 2016 and expressed their happiness regarding Yuvraj Singh and Ashish Nehra’s comeback in the team.

Gambhir said he was happy to see Ashish Nehra roll back the years whereas Uthappa, who recently got married, was also equally happy about Yuvraj Singh’s form.

“It’s good to see Nehra performing on his comeback, but the test will be the World Cup,” Gambhir said.

“To have Yuvi in top form is a bonus, a big plus for us. We are all are rooting for him to do well, I hope he peaks in time for the World Cup,” said Uthappa.

When asked about who would be the favorites in the big event, Gambhir was quick to say that there can be no favourites in the T20 format of the game but was happy to see India showing intent ahead of the much-awaited competition.  Uthappa felt the format is too unpredictable to pick a winning team.

The former India opener was very impressed with India’s inspiring fielding performances over the past few months.

“I think we’re one of the top fielding sides,” Gambhir said with no doubts.

When asked about India’s clash against their arch rivals Pakistan in the already controversial encounter that is supposed to take place in Dharamsala, the Uthappa said that India’s record against Pakistan in World Cups would give MS Dhoni’s men plenty of confidence.

Gambhir also gave a valid opinion stating that the media hypes the game very much the players play just like they play any other game.

“The media hypes this game up but we approach it as we would any other game, and try not to let the emotions of playing against Pakistan get in the way,” insisted Gambhir.
