‘I was confident of scoring 25 runs in one over against Karim Janat’ – Asif Ali after his match winning heroics in AFG vs PAK match

Asif Ali produced a sensational performance with the willow for the Pakistan side in their encounter against Afghanistan. In a 7-ball knock, Ali scored a breathtaking 25* to help Pakistan beat Afghanistan by 5 wickets.
Pakistan needed 24 runs off the final 2 overs for victory, and Asif Ali hit Karim Janat for 4 sixes in the 19th over to seal the job for his side. And, Ali won the Player of the Match award for his stupendous performance.
And, the 30-year-old has opened up on his performance. Ali congratulated the Pakistan side as well as all the fans who have supported Pakistan. Ali added that he told Shoaib Malik that he was confident of finishing the match for the ‘Men in Green’.
“I would like to congratulate the Pakistan team and all our fans. I was confident of finishing it off from this end and that’s what I told Shoaib Malik before he got out,” said Ali after winning the Player of the Match award.

Asif Ali also said that he analyses the situation of the match and then decides which bowlers to target. Ali concluded by stating that he told Shoaib Malik that he could take on Karim Janat and even score 25 runs in one over.
“I look at the situation of the match, and I target the bowlers accordingly. I was talking to Shoaib when I walked in to bat and I told him that I was confident enough of getting 20-25 in one over against Karim Janat, which I did,” said Asif Ali.
The Pakistan side has now won all the 3 matches that it has played and is placed at the top of the points table in Group 2. Babar Azam and his men will next be seen in action on 2nd November 2021 when they take on the Namibia side. This clash is slated to be played at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
