Shahid Afridi is regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders in the realm of Pakistan cricket. His classic performance in both the departments of the game has fetched him various laurels. Talking about his association with Pakistan’s T20 league, PSL, he was currently associated with Multan Sultans in the sixth edition. However, he was ruled out of the season right in the middle due to a back injury while training.
Though Multan Sultans went on to win the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League, Afridi added that he would like to play his last season with Quetta Gladiators. Afridi also opened up on how we was connected with players all the while even being away from the ground.
“If the franchise releases me, I will prefer to represent the Quetta Gladiators in my last season,” said Afridi talking in DawnNewsTV show ‘Live with Adil Shahzeb.’
“I missed not being with the team in the PSL final but I was constantly in touch with Muhammad Rizwan, Sohaib Maqsood, and Shan Masood through text messages and I kept guiding them and sharing my experience about the importance of a big match, especially the final,” Afridi added.

Further, Afridi went on to congratulate the Pakistan Cricket Board for arranging the remaining matches of PSL in UAE despite facing many difficulties. However, he added that leagues do not give the desired results if they don’t get staged on home soil.
PSL has produced many good players reckons Afridi
The 44-year-old was also asked about the difference between PSL and other T20 leagues. Afridi added that there is not much difference is PSL and IPL except the huge money which is offered in the Indian T20 league. He added that even PSL has produced many great players. On being asked about the chances of the Pakistan team in the upcoming T20 World Cup, Pakistan great said that preparation for the big tournament should begin 7-8 months prior. Hence, Men in Green should also look at the team combinations from now on.
