Preview:

The Iberia Cup 2019 started off with the home team Spain thumping Portugal by 8 wickets on Friday. On their T20I debut, Portugal lost two wickets off first two balls and never looked like recovering. They finished with 87/7 in their 20 overs which is at least 30 runs short of the par score. Faran Afzal took two wickets for just 14 runs in the four overs he bowled.

The Spanish team didn’t waste much of time in the chase taking only 14.2 overs to complete a win. Tariq Aziz took both wickets but couldn’t make a difference to the result. Opener Paul Hennessy complied a 30-ball 38 to push Spain towards an easy win. Both Spain and Portugal will face the 3rd team Gibraltar on Saturday. The two teams will eventually clash off in the evening.

Weather Condition/Report:

No rain is expected throughout Saturday in La Manga Club and a full 40-over contest is expected if not for bad light.

Pitch Condition/Report:

Spain and Portugal will face off on Saturday evening on a track that already hosted two matches in space of seven hours. With dry conditions around, we could witness spinners making the most in this fixture. Chasing might not be a preferable option for this game.
