Scotland and Oman are scheduled to take part in the fifth-place playoff in the World T20 Qualifiers. The Scots, led by Kyle Coetzer, were a tad inconsistent in the group. They lost three matches at the hands of Singapore, Namibia and Netherlands. However, in their play-off 3 match versus hosts United Arab Emirates (UAE), they won by a resounding 90 runs at the Dubai International Stadium.

Oman, on the other hand, were more clinical in the league stage, staying on top of the table for quite some time before Ireland toppled them. But the defeat at the hands of Namibia in the second play-off would’ve jolted their confidence to a large extent. However, After defeating Hong Kong in the second attempt, the Zeeshan Maqsood-led unit managed to qualify for the T20 World Cup.

Pitch Report

ICC Academy, Dubai

The venue will be hosting a game after a week. Out of the 10 matches played at the ICC Academy, only three matches were won by the chasing teams. The average score at the venue is around 136 and the chasing record says that it gets tough to bat on the strip. Runs will be on offer though.

Weather Report

The atmosphere will be taxing for the players. The temperature will be around the 35 degrees Celsius. There won’t be any cloud whatsoever with no chances of rain. The humidity will be in the 30s and 40s. The cricketers will need to stay hydrated throughout the duration of the match.
