In Group B, there are two matches scheduled on Thursday. The UAE and Nigeria will face off in the day’s first match. Nigeria have lost three matches in a row and another loss will literally oust them from the ICC T20 World Cup qualifiers. The UAE recovered from their early defeat versus Oman, but Jersey slapped them with their second defeat. They are placed fifth in the table below Ireland.
In the other match, Hong Kong and Canada will be crossing swords. Both teams are in completely contrasting form. Even as Hong Kong are yet to open their account, having lost three matches, Canada are on top, winning as many matches. Last time, Canada, led by Navneet Dhaliwal, took down Ireland and their confidence would’ve sky-rocketed after the victory in Abu Dhabi.
Pitch Report
Sheikh Zayed Stadium Nursery 1, Abu Dhabi
Batting hasn’t been all that tough on the pitch, but the batters have had to work hard. The spinners have gotten some purchase out of the decks. Out of three matches, two were won by the team, batting first. The last game was a low scoring between Bermuda and Namibia was a low-scoring affair. In the early hours it remains fairly good for batting and as the day progresses, it becomes tougher.
Weather Report
The playing conditions won’t be a pleasant one for the players with the temperature extending up to 36 degrees Celsius. It will remain the same throughout the duration of the two encounters. The humidity will be in the 30s and 40s. There are no chances of rain and the clouds won’t be there.
