The ICC Women’s World T20 is all set to commence on Friday in the West Indies with India and New Zealand locking horns in the tournament opener. Cricket’s governing body is trying its best to make the Women’s cricket popular as the 50-over World Cup was a blockbuster event last year in England. In an attempt of the same, the ICC is foraying into the multi-lingual content to bring the fans across the world closer.

The ICC, on Wednesday, announced a series of digital firsts during the World T20. Hindi and Bengali content wil be displayed on its official website for the first time during the 10-team competition. The fans can also follow the action across ICC’s various digital platforms including the tournament official website (www.worldtwenty20.com), the ICC application. Interestingly, the Apple Watch devices will also provide the onfield action this time around.

Daily best news in different languages

According to United News of India, the daily best news and features will be available in Hindi and Bengali as well on the official ICC website which is a new step taken by them. Also, the fans across the world will be able to listen every game through the live audio commentary provided by the BBC.

The ICC Head of Media Rights, Digital and Aarti Dabas was very excited to bring so many variations especially for the Women’s cricket. “We are very excited to be giving millions of fans around the world the chance to get closer to the ICC Women’s World T20 and making it easier than ever before for fans to engage with the women’s game,” she said.
