Preview for Dream11 Fantasy

The caravan of the 2020 ICC U19 World Cup continues and on Friday defending champions India will lock horns with New Zealand U19s at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein. If there is one word to describe as to how India has fared in the World Cup thus far, its got to be clinical.

The defending champions have lived up to their billing of being the prime candidates to win the crown once again and emulate the feats of previous Indian teams’ and have breezed past Sri Lanka [by 90 runs] and Japan [by ten wickets] to book their tickets for the knockout stage.

But, before that, the Boys in Blue will lock horns with the Kiwi Colts, who come into this game after having registered a much-needed win over Sri Lanka in their last fixture. After their opening game against Japan ended in a no-result, the Kiwis desperately needed to win against the Lankan Colts in order to keep their hopes alive, which they did with disdain after opener Rhys Mariu’s 86 and Beckham Wheeler-Greenall’s cool-and-collected 80 [off 111 balls] helped them chase down the total of 9-242, set by the Lankans.

The Kiwis are currently locked in the second place with five points and with Sri Lanka having already lost their last two games, and Japan’s net run-rate taking a heavy beating following their ten-wicket loss to India, even they go down to the Boys in Blue, they should still make it to the quarter-final stage. That said, the BlackCaps will be looking to make a statement against a strong Indian outfit before the business end of the tournament approaches.

Weather Report/Condition

Unfortunately, the weather forecast isn’t good for Bloemfontein on Friday. According to AccuWeather, thunderstorms are set to be lash the city throughout the day. While the temperature is set to be between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius, the humidity is set to hover around 63%. Chances of rain- 90%.

Pitch Report

The pitch at Bloemfontein has provided a fair contest between bat and ball. The last game that New Zealand played at the venue was the prime example with batsmen getting full value for their shots while at the same time, both fast bowlers, as well as spinners, got a fair purchase from the track. With Thunderstorms set to lash out on Friday, the fast bowlers might come into the picture a lot more and both sides may want to exploit the moisture by opting to bowl first.

Average first innings score: 203 (In the four group-stage matches played at the venue)

Record of the chasing teams: Won – 3; Lost – 1

Expert Advice

Ravi Bishnoi has been in stupendous form thus far. No one has been really able to pick the leggie thus far, and considering that the Kiwis traditionally struggle against leg-spin, picking him as captain can be a good punt.

Siddhesh Veer can also be a great pick. The all-rounder scored a quick-fire 44 and backed it up with two wickets in the opening game against Sri Lanka.

Probable Winners

India A are expected to win this match.
