The tenth match of the World Cup 2019 will see a blockbuster of a clash between Australia and West Indies at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. With both the teams being in stunning form at the moment, one can expect fireworks when they lock horns on Thursday. What can make the clash even more interesting is the venue which has been a high scoring one. Just a couple of days ago, England and Pakistan played out a high-scoring encounter at this very venue.

Australia, the five-time World Cup winners and also the defending champions, have started their tournament on a high. They thrashed Afghanistan by seven wickets in their World Cup-opener. The bowlers came up with a fine show to bowl out Afghanistan for just 207. The batsmen, led by comeback man David Warner, then chased down the total inside 35 overs. Warner scored an unbeaten 89 as Australia won the game by seven wickets.

West Indies did even better in their World Cup-opener as they blew away Pakistan. The likes of Andre Russell, Oshane Thomas, Sheldon Cottrell and Jason Holder wreaked havoc as West Indies bowled out the Men in Green for a paltry 105. Chris Gayle then scored a fine quick fifty to lay the foundation for an easy chase before Nicholas Pooran took the side home.

Both the teams will be brimming with confidence with the way they have started their respective campaigns. Based on current form, one cannot point out clear favourites but Australia is ahead of the Caribbean outfit if the past results are considered. In fact, West Indies have only managed to beat Australia in 5 out of 32 ODIs over the last 15 years might have a bit to do with it. West Indies had also lost to the team from Down Under during a practice game before the start of the World Cup.

How’s the weather expected to be

There are meagre chances for the much-anticipated clash could be ruined by rain. According to AccuWeather, there are chances of rain throughout the game although the chances will decrease as the game wears on. As far as the temperature is concerned, it will hover between 15-20 degree Celsius. The humidity will be in the range of 60-50 per cent during the game.
