Bangladesh will be desperate to return to winning ways when they take on Sri Lanka at the County Ground in Bristol in the 16th match of the World Cup 2019. Sri Lanka are placed above Bangladesh in the points table but it would not be very wrong to say that the latter have played a better brand of cricket in the ongoing tournament. Both the teams have played three games each so far with Sri Lanka at the sixth spot and Bangladesh at eighth.

Out of three games so far, both have won one apiece but whereas Sri Lanka’s washout against Pakistan gave them a point for a no-result. Bangladesh have looked really impressive with the bat while Sri Lanka have been far from impressive. However, luck has been on the Islanders’ side thus far. In their last outing, Bangladesh lost to England after a poor bowling display.

The hosts amassed 386/6 thanks to Jason Roy’s powerful 153 and half-centuries from Jonny Bairstow and Jos Buttler as England scored their highest-ever total in the World Cup. In reply, Bangladesh were all out for 280 despite their star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan scoring 121. Shakib, meanwhile, could miss the clash against Sri Lanka due to a thigh strain he suffered during the England game.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, beat Afghanistan in their last completed game before their clash against Pakistan was washed out. The Islanders were all out for just 201 against Afghanistan but managed to defend the revised total of 187 with ease to open their account.

How’s the weather expected to be?
