The chances of one among India and New Zealand suffering their first defeat of the World Cup 2019 on Thursday look gloomy due to the high chances of rain. The fixture to be played at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham has been under rain threat over the last few days and the forecast during the match isn’t encouraging either. However, chances of rains have come down on the day of the game compared to what they were even on the eve of the match.

This match between India and New Zealand will be their first in the World Cup since 2003. The two sides have not faced in a Champions Trophy game either in these 16 years. The two clashed off in the World T20 in this span and the Kiwis winning on both instances. The Blackcaps have begun the CWC 2019 on a positive note defeating Asian teams – Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

India, on the other hand, beat South Africa and Australia in their first two matches. The two wins have more or less confirmed their spot in the semi-finals as they play against the likes of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Even five wins could be enough for finishing in the top four in the table. However, the injury to their opener Shikhar Dhawan could unsettle the team combination and momentum.

KL Rahul, who was set to bat at No.4, now has to open the innings with Rohit Sharma which leaves a void once again at No.4. India has roped in Rishabh Pant as cover for Dhawan whose recovery will be monitored by the team management. Pant will be with the team from the game against Pakistan this Sunday. A final call over Dhawan is expected to be taken in the next 10 days.

Talking about the match between India and New Zealand, the game is set to start with a delay. About 80% chances of raining are forecasted till 11 AM local time while the scheduled start of play is 10:30 AM local time. However, from 12 PM, there are chances of weather being cloudy but importantly dry. There are chances of having at least 20 overs-a-side contest, which is a minimum requirement for a complete ODI game.

In the live feed below, you can get the hourly weather forecast of Trent Bridge and also the Duckworth Lewis Stern par scores and targets once the game starts.
