It was an excellent win for Bangladesh in their last game against Windies when they chased down 322 runs in only 41.3 overs. After two consecutive losses, this victory would have come as a huge sigh of relief for the Bangla Tigers. The team has got two wins in five games now and have five points to their name.

But for them to enter into the top-four in the points table, they need a few more victories under their belt. The team will be up against a strong Australia team in their next encounter. It is a must for them to maintain the same kind of intensity and hunger for yet another inspirational win under their belt. The most important question though is that if the Bangladesh team will look to make any amends to their playing eleven.

Here is the Predicted Playing XI for Bangladesh

Openers (Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar)

After missing out on the starts on a few occasions now, Tamim Iqbal looked good in the last game. The left-hander played with positive intent and looked to rotate the strike on a consistent basis. However, the way he got out was slightly unfortunate and he can’t afford such mistakes again. Tamim should look to see off the new ball against a strong Australian bowling attack and play responsible cricket.

Soumya Sarkar will continue to partner him at the top of the order. Even though Sarkar missed out on making the opportunity count in the last game as well, he is hitting the ball sweetly. He should look to spend as much time as possible in the middle without looking to take too many risks.

Middle Order (Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Liton Das)

Shakib Al Hasan, in this tournament, has been unbelievably consistent. In the four innings thus far, he has scored two half-centuries and got two centuries in the last two matches. The all-rounder is possibly playing the best cricket of his life at the moment and will have a massive role in the next few games of the tournament as well. He doubles up as more than a handy bowler and adds great balance to the team.

Mushfiqur Rahim has looked slightly off colour in the last few matches. Even in the previous game, he got out for just 1 run. Thus, he should look to get a big score and stabilise this middle order. Liton Das might have sealed his spot in the team at least for now after his knock in the last game. Even though he was batting out of position, he applied himself beautifully and remained unbeaten on 94. Bangladesh will be hoping for more of such exploits from him.

All Rounders (Mahmudullah, Mosaddek Hossain, Mehidy Hasan, Mohammad Saifuddin)

With the way Shakib and Liton played in the last game, Mahmudullah and Mosaddek Hossain didn’t have to do much with the bat. However, they continue to be an important part of the team down the order and are utility players. While they can score some quick runs, they also deliver a few economical overs with the ball and add the right kind of balance to the team.

Mehidy Hasan will continue to be the frontline spinner in this bowling attack. There are a lot of left-handers in the opposition and thus his role will be critical. He should look to give the ball a lot of air and allow it to turn. Moreover, he should deliver tight lines and lengths so that the batsmen don’t score too freely off his bowling. While he has been slightly expensive, Mohammad Saifuddin has picked up important wickets and the management might persist with him.

Bowlers (Mashrafe Mortaza (c), Mustafizur Rahman)

Skipper Mashrafe Mortaza’s form has been a massive concern for Bangladesh in this tournament. He has bowled in four games thus far in World Cup 2019. However, he has only managed to pick up one wicket and was slightly lucky with that to be fair. Bangladesh can’t proceed forward in the tournament with an under-performing captain and he needs to pick his game up really soon.

Mustafizur Rahman, though, has been doing an excellent job with the ball. He could be expensive because of the limited variations that he’s got. But the left-arm pacer is also picking up some important wickets for his team. Against the dangerous Windies side, he picked up three key wickets of the opposition including the likes of Shai Hope, Shimron Hetmyer and Andre Russell who are all potential game changers. The management will want similar kinds of performances from him in the future as well.
