Bangladesh will face Afghanistan looking for a big win that could push them towards the semi-final berth of the World Cup 2019. Bangladesh have a fifty-fifty win-loss record in the tournament so far after playing six games. Afghanistan, on the other hand, went down fighting to India by 11 runs in Southampton.
The venue produced a slow surface for India-Afghanistan match which could tempt the Afghans if it remains the same for this game against Bangladesh. Afghans have also played six matches in the tournament and unfortunately, lost in all those six to become the first side to be knocked out of the race for the semis.
Here we bring to you the Dream11 Fantasy team based on the stats of the players:
Keepers:
The Bangladesh keeper-batsmen Mushfiqur Rahim and Liton Das have good numbers in the recent matches. Rahim scored 244 runs in last five innings with the help of a fifty and his maiden CWC century in the previous match against Australia. Liton Das also has two fifties in last five ODI innings where he scored 192 runs. The Afghanistan keeper Ikram Alikhil bats way low in the order and has only 22 runs to his name in the previous five outings.
Batsmen:
Mahmudullah has made most of the chances he got while batting low down the order. He scored 182 runs in his last five outings at almost run-a-ball. Tamim Iqbal has had some tough time this year and his cost of 9.5 credits doesn’t help his inclusion. Tamim, however, has scored 169 runs in his last five ODI innings including a fifty against Australia in the previous game. Hashmatullah Shahidi and Najibullah Zadran are better options considering the slowness of the track, their performances and credits available.
All-rounders:
It is a no-brainer to pick Shakib Al Hasan who is among the leading run-getters of CWC 2019. The all-rounder has 425 runs in his last five ODIs which includes two centuries, two fifties and also five wickets with the ball. The Afghanistan all-rounders Gulbadin Naib and Mohammad Nabi have six wickets apiece in the recent matches but haven’t been great with the bat despite getting starts.
Bowlers:
It is doubtful whether Dawlat Zadran and Mohammad Saifuddin will return to the playing XI. The two bowlers have bagged nine wickets apiece in their last five ODI matches. This would mean Mustafizur Rahman and Aftab Alam being the first picks from this category as the two pacers claimed eight wickets in last five ODIs. Mehidy Hasan Miraz can be the 3rd picking among bowlers as he has picked five wickets and also scored a few runs with the bat in his last five outings.
