Windies started the 2019 World Cup with a resounding victory versus Pakistan at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Unfortunately, that is for the time being their only moment of jubilation in the mega event. Jason Holder and Co are currently placed eighth in the points table with three points from six matches. The Caribbean team also have had their injury concerns, which haven’t helped their cause by any means.
They are next scheduled to lock horns with India on June 27 at the Old Trafford in Manchester. The Men in Blue are on a rampage as Virat Kohli and Co are one of the unbeaten teams in the World Cup, along with New Zealand. India had to strain a wee bit versus Afghanistan at the Rose Bowl in Southampton but won the game by 11 runs. One more win would take them a step closer to the semi-final qualification.
Here is the guide to select the Captain and Vice-Captain for Dream11 Fantasy:
Captain Suggestions:
Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli hasn’t yet come into his own in the World Cup. Yet, he has 244 runs in four innings at an average of 61. The other day versus the Afghans, he got 67 runs on a difficult wicket to bat and it’s a testament to the quality he possesses. Last year, the 30-year-old scored three consecutive tons at home versus the Windies and he is expected to be a key force in the upcoming game as well.

Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma made an incredible start to the mega event with a sparkling ton against the Proteas. He followed it up with a half-century versus Australia and then pummelled the Pakistani attack to a knock of 140. But he was found wanting against the Afghans. The 32-year-old was beaten all ends up and was castled by Mujeeb Ur Rahman. He’ll be looking to make amends next time around.

Chris Gayle
The 39-year-old Chris Gayle has taken the attacking route while batting. At times, he has played the initial few overs out after which he took the attack to the opposition. In six games, the hulk-like Jamaican has notched 194 runs at an average of 38.80. His top score of 87 came in the erstwhile match versus the Black Caps in Manchester and India needs to get him early.

Vice-Captain Suggestions:
Shai Hope
Shai Hope has been the Windies’ standout batsmen over the last few months. But he has had a rather topsy-turvy campaign in the mega event. While he has scores of 68 and 96 against Australia and Bangladesh, he has also perished for a few low scores. The good thing about Hope is that he puts a price tag on his wicket and that helps him to show a bit more consistency than a few of his other teammates.

Kuldeep Yadav
The World Cup hasn’t panned out the way Kuldeep Yadav would’ve wanted to. In four matches, the chinaman bowler has only picked up three wickets. The youngster hasn’t been able to run through batting lineups, something he is capable of doing. However, he has bowled at an economy of 4.52 and it means that he has at least been accurate with his line and lengths. He can be lethal on his day.

Nicholas Pooran
Nicholas Pooran has shown sparks of brilliance, having scored 163 runs in six matches at an average of 40.75. But he has also been guilty of playing some rash strokes and throwing his wickets way in the hour of need. With scores of 34*, 40, 63 and 25, the southpaw has promised a lot. Now, the 23-year-old needs to convert the starts with a matured approach in the middle.
