Pakistan seeks a miracle against Bangladesh for making it to the semi-finals by surpassing the NRR of New Zealand. The Sarfaraz Ahmed-led team has to win by more than 300 runs which mean they have to post a total as big as 400 while their highest ODI total being only 399. Even if they end up scoring a record total, Pakistan won’t find it any easy against Bangladesh. The Bangla Tigers have done a decent job with the bat while their prime all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan standing at No.2 in the leading run-getters list with 542 runs.
Here we bring to you the Dream11 Fantasy team based on the stats of the players:
Wicket-keepers:
Mushfiqur Rahim and Liton Das have been quite consistent in the tournament as they make at least 20-30 runs in every game. Rahim has 254 runs to his name in previous five innings while Liton scored 228. Sarfaraz Ahmed can’t be picked as the Pakistan captain prefers to promote other players who can score at a quick pace if a situation arises.
Batsmen:
Babar Azam has been most consistent top-order batsman for Pakistan in the tournament. Batting at No.3, Azam has scored 293 runs in his previous five ODIs. In the same games, openers Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman collectively scored 274 runs only. Haris Sohail has done well with the bat at No.5 position as he struck fifties since he was brought back into the XI after the defeat against India. Bangladesh players in this category are missing the consistency as Fakhar will be the 3rd pick due to his fewer credits.
All-rounders:
Shakib Al Hasan is going through the form of his life with the bat and would be hoping to finish on high. Shakib is yet to be dismissed under 40 in the tournament and yet another match-winning performance could make him the front-runner to win the player of the tournament award. Imad Wasim and Mohammad Hafeez have been decent but Moassadek Hossain will be the best choice given the credits get used up on big names in other categories.
Bowlers:
The left-arm seamers Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mustafizur Rahman and Mohammad Amir have been in brilliant form as they bagged 14, 12 and 11 wickets respectively in their previous five ODIs. Mohammad Saifuddin is another choice in this category but costs nine credits. He scored an unbeaten fifty against India after failing with the ball. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, at 8 credits, will be the 3rd bowler. The off-spinner is expected to find himself in the playing XI due to left-handers in Pakistan line-up.
