India might rest Bumrah to keep him fresh for the semis.

It is the last day of the 2019 World Cup’s league stage and though the two matches to be played are the dead-rubbers, a lot is at stake. The top two spots will be finalized and with it, the semi-final line-ups will also be known. India will face Sri Lanka who have been knocked out of the tournament but would love to beat their neighbours. They managed to do it in the Champions Trophy two years ago and the Men in Blue would be wary of the same.
If India win this game and Australia lose to South Africa later in the day, then Virat Kohli’s men will face New Zealand in the semi-final. In terms of team combination, the Indian team management might want to rest Jasprit Bumrah and keep him fresh for the knockouts. In that case, Ravindra Jadeja is likely to get a game while the rest of the team might be the same. Sri Lanka won their previous encounter and are unlikely to make any changes.
The 44th match of the ICC World Cup 2019 will be played between Sri Lanka and India at Headingley in Leeds.
The match starts at 10:30 AM local time (09:30 AM GMT) (3:00 PM IST).
The game will be live on Star Sports. Live streaming available on Hotstar.
It will be partly cloudy in Leeds on Saturday. There is an 11% chance of rain until 12 PM and it reduces further later on in the day which shouldn’t be an issue for both the teams. The temperature will hover around 18-20 Degrees Celsius according to AccuWeather.
The pitch used for Afghanistan-Windies match will be in action again for this encounter. It will slow down definitely and the best time to bat would be the first 30 overs of the first innings. The spinners and the off-cutters of the pacers will come into play to make things tough for the batsmen. The team winning the toss is expected to bat first.
Average first innings score: 257 (last three World Cup matches at the venue)
