Finally, India will be getting their campaign underway in the ongoing World Cup on Wednesday against South Africa. This is Proteas’ third game and they are already in trouble after losing their first two matches to England and Bangladesh respectively. Another loss will put their fortunes into the doldrums and Faf du Plessis will be hoping that his troops step up to the task against the Men in Blue.

South Africa are plagued with injuries as well and the latest to be added to the list is Lungi Ngidi. Dale Steyn is most likely to play while Hashim Amla is expected to return as well to bolster the batting line-up. Aiden Markram looks set to miss this game with David Miller performing decently in the previous encounter while Faf du Plessis will continue to bat at three.

As for India, they might be caught up between playing three genuine seamers with Hardik Pandya as the fourth option. They also have the option to play either Ravindra Jadeja and one of the two wrist spinners or both the wrist spinners in Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal. South Africa are vulnerable against spin and India might be tempted to go with the latter.

Expert Advice:

If the ball swings upfront and India are batting first, it is better not to pick Rohit Sharma as he is extremely vulnerable against the moving ball. Same is the case with South Africa and Hashim Amla can be ignored.

In the case of collapses, MS Dhoni plays until the end and in grand leagues, he can be a good option for the multipliers.

Probable Winners:

India are expected to win but South Africa will fight hard to register their first victory as well.
