All New Zealand need from here on is beat to England or hope Bangladesh lose to India but beat Pakistan. Their NRR is good enough at the moment which means both Pakistan and Bangladesh need big wins to edge past the Kiwis.

How can New Zealand get knocked out by NRR if they are levelled on 11 points with India or one of Pakistan and Bangladesh?

Pakistan – For Pakistan to surpass New Zealand’s NRR, they need to beat Bangladesh by around 200 runs and at the same time hope England defeats the Kiwis by a similar margin.

Bangladesh – For Bangladesh to go ahead of New Zealand’s NRR, they would need at least a 50-run win for England over the Blackcaps. In this case, Bangladesh’s winning margins against India and Pakistan should collectively be 200 runs.

India – As Indian team is already ahead of New Zealand’s NRR, they should not lose to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka by big margins.

If New Zealand goes down against England by 100 runs, India can afford to lose by 75 runs apiece in the remaining two matches and still have a better NRR than the Kiwis.
