Champions Trophy is just days away and the Indian team was engaged in their first practice session today. It was an optional practice day but all the players turned up except one. It was Yuvraj who took the day off due to illness. The commitment of the Indian players can be seen as they worked extremely hard on the day.
They will play their first of the two warm-up games tomorrow. The defending champions will meet New Zealand and flex their muscles at the oval. Currently, the team is practicing at the Lord’s and were seen toiling hard in a sunny English afternoon.
The Twitter handle of BCCI posted a video of Ajinkya Rahane talking about their practice session and their preparations for the Champions Trophy. Rahane was calm and looked chilled out after a tiring day out on the field.

On the warm up games.
He said that the team is determined and is looking to play some quality cricket in the warm-up games. Ajinkya also talked about getting ready and adapting to conditions before the actual tournament begins. He said, “We are looking to play some good cricket in the warm-up games and gear up for the Champions Trophy. The idea is to get ready and give your best.”
On the practice sessions.
Rahane was happy with the first practice session as all the players including coach Kumble worked hard. The Mumbai man said that many guys were visiting the Lord’s cricket ground for the first time and it was a great experience for all of them.
“We had a wonderful first practice session at Lord’s. Many players have come to this historic ground for the first time and it has been a really good experience for them,” exclaimed Rahane.
India will begin their title defense on June 4th against the unpredictable Pakistan. India will look to begin their campaign with a victory and so will Pakistan as it promises to be a cracker.
