Indian captain Virat Kohli was heard instructing Jasprit Bumrah to come around the wicket to South African opening batter Dean Elgar. Apparently, there was a crack that had opened up on the surface, and Kohli was asking the right-arm speedster to exploit this.

“Jassi, idhar se daal, out karenge isko,” Kohli was heard telling Bumrah. Bumrah immediately came around the wicket to have a ‘crack’ at Elgar.

Jasprit Bumrah produced an outstanding performance in the South African second innings with the red cherry in hand. Bumrah scalped 2 wickets in the 11.5 overs that he bowled on Day 4, and also leaked only 22 runs as well.

Bumrah first cleaned up Rassie van der Dussen with a ball that darted in sharply after pitching, and the South African was beaten all ends up. Then came a sizzling yorker that knocked off nightwatchman Keshav Maharaj’s stumps.

South Africa lose 4 wickets on Day 4

The South African side lost 4 wickets in the 40.5 overs that they faced from the Indian bowling attack on Day 4, with their scorecard reading 94. Opener Aiden Markram departed in the 2nd over of the South African innings, chopping on a delivery from Mohammed Shami.

Mohammed Siraj then accounted for the wicket of Keegan Petersen. South African skipper Dean Elgar was the only batter who applied himself out in the middle. The left-handed veteran batter scored a sedate 52* and kept the Indian bowling attack at bay.

Earlier in the day, the Indian side was bowled out for a total of 174. Rishabh Pant was the top scorer for the Virat Kohli-led outfit and scored a run-a-ball 34. Kagiso Rabada and left-arm seamer Marco Jansen scalped 4 wickets apiece to constantly put pressure on the Indian batting lineup.
